Guest Post Guidelines
Original & Exclusive: Content must be 100% original and exclusive to ClassyPlants. We do not accept syndicated, spun, or previously published articles. We run plagiarism and AI-detection checks on every submission.
Word Count: Minimum 1,500 words. Most of our top-performing guides are 2,000–2,500 words. Depth beats brevity every time. An 800-word overview of snake plant care will be rejected – we already have a 2,500-word guide. Bring new angles, deeper troubleshooting, or original testing data.
Accuracy & Sources: All care advice must be fact-checked. Pet toxicity claims require ASPCA or equivalent citations. Fertilizer or product claims should reference manufacturer data or independent testing. University extension sources (Cornell, UC Davis, Clemson) are strongly preferred over unverified blogs.
Structure & Readability
- Use clear H2 and H3 headings
- Include bullet points and comparison tables where helpful
- Add a Table of Contents for guides over 2,000 words
- Break up long paragraphs – aim for 2–3 sentences per paragraph online
- Include a Quick Info table at the top for care guides (light, water, humidity, temperature, toxicity, difficulty)
Tone: Write in a clear, conversational tone – like advice from a knowledgeable friend who has actually grown the plant. First-person experience is welcome and encouraged. Avoid overly academic language or generic listicle fluff.
Images: Include 1–3 high-quality, relevant images. Original photos are strongly preferred and given priority in publishing. Images must be at least 800px wide. If you use stock photos, ensure they are properly licensed.
Internal Links: Link to 2–3 relevant existing ClassyPlants articles within your post. This helps readers navigate our content and improves the value of your contribution.
Author Bio: Include a 50-word bio with one link to your website, portfolio, or primary social profile.
What We Do NOT Accept
- AI-generated content without substantial human editing, fact-checking, and personal experience
- Generic listicles with no original insight or hands-on perspective
- Content under 1,500 words
- Articles on topics unrelated to plant care (no finance, tech, general lifestyle, or off-topic gardening)
- Promotional or overly sales-focused content disguised as advice
- Duplicate or thin content that overlaps with our existing guides without adding new value
